The Journey of the First Web3 Blog

Introduction#

Recently, many bloggers I follow on Twitter have "logged in" their blogs to xLog, which has sparked my interest in this platform.
Since I am not familiar with the process of Web3, I encountered many problems during the creation of my blog. Therefore, in the first blog post after creation, I would like to explain the problems I encountered and the solutions I found, hoping to help people who have the same problems as me.

Preparation of Wallet and Currency Deposit#

The wallet is the "key" for you to navigate the Web3 universe. Therefore, before creating xLog, you need to prepare an electronic wallet. I am using MetaMask, which is highly recommended by many people, and this tutorial also aims to explain the problems I encountered when using this wallet.

Wallet Download#

MetaMask provides official mobile apps and browser extensions for download and installation. However, whether it is a plugin or an app, you may need some additional "magic".

After downloading and creating an account, you need to do the following two things:

  • Add the Crossbell network
  • Claim CSB currency balance

Adding the Crossbell Network#

Since MetaMask does not have an option to directly add the Crossbell network, and I myself am not familiar with Web3 networks, after creating countless "tabs", I found the final solution - chain-list.

After opening the homepage of chain-list, you need to click on Connect Wallet to connect your wallet, and enter Crossbell in the search box below.

Click on Add To Wallet in the search results.

At this point, Crossbell should appear in your wallet (you may need to switch manually).

Claiming CSB Balance#

Currently, you can claim a small amount of CSB for free on the Faucet page.

You can think of the faucet as a "foundation for users with insufficient balance". Currently, the faucet will give each new user 0.02 CSB as a gift, and you can claim more after spending it.

Follow the instructions on the page, enter your wallet address (you may need to send a tweet to verify), and claim your CSB.

Congratulations, 0.02 CSB has been credited to your account!

Opening an xLog Blog#

After completing the above preparations, opening a blog on xLog is a breeze.

Simply go to the official website of xLog, click on Connect in the upper right corner, connect your MetaMask with xLog, and you can create your own site and embark on a new journey of Web3!

Conclusion#

This article was edited on my phone during my commute on the subway, so I omitted a lot of operational instructions in the steps. These operations include wallet confirmation and how to create your own site step by step.

Due to device limitations and limited personal energy, I cannot explain these steps to you one by one. I only explain some problems I encountered in this article, hoping to be helpful to you.

With that, the content of this article has come to an end. Thank you all for watching, and I'm ready to enjoy my journey of Web3!
